I was asked to write an article for the Embassy of Finland in Washington, D.C., and compare the American and Finnish education systems.
It's a short and concise beginning - but I promise - there will be more:
Link to my article on the Embassy of Finland's webpage:
"'Secrets' behind the Finnish Educational Success"
"No one who knows anything of the Finns will deny that they are the best educated nation in the world."
ReplyDelete- Ernest Young: The Land of a Thousand Lakes (1912).
I think that in recent developement some facts of a very long tradition have been lost.
" The board schools of Finland are models of excellence, and I have often wondered what ordinary little peasant children can do with so much knowledge crammed into their brains."
- Sylvia MacDougall: A Summer Tour in Finland (1908)
